It's whatever people wear in the workplace. So, as long as people aren't
working naked, all employees wear workwear!
Workwear is usually defined as clothing specifically designed to be worn
in the workplace. Workwear can be worn both to protect the worker or to
protect products and equipment from various sorts of contamination.
Well-dressed staff communicate a positive message about their company. Comfortable,
safe, clean and attractive workwear helps staff to feel good about their
jobs.
Textile rental firms deliver garments at the right time, in the right size,
in a guaranteed clean state and ready for use. Garments range from:
- heavy-duty overalls for industrial plants, to
- lighter clothing worn by front office personnel where image is all-important
Personalised garments ensure safety protection for wearers, protect the
companys production process and increase workers sense of belonging
to a company team.
As well as renting things like cars or a photocopier,
a company can rent workwear. A workwear service company will look after:
- investing in workwear textiles and inventory management
- collecting soiled garments
- sorting, washing, drying, finishing and quality control
- repairing or replacing damaged garments
- returning garments to the customer
- possible internal distribution to end-users
- adjusting quickly to changes in the number of employees
Workwear rental starts with the rental firm giving advice about the selection
of fabrics and garments, optimum cut and design, colour combinations, even
things like how and where to place the company's logo.

New
E.T.S.A. minimum requirements for workwear fabrics
Industrial launderers are often faced with workwear which is not suited
to industrial processing. In order to enable industrial launderers to
select suitable workwear for industrial washing and drying processes,
E.T.S.A. has defined minimum requirements
for fabrics for general-purpose workwear. In a specialised Working
Group, E.T.S.A. is currently looking into expanding these requirements
to the entire garment.
